A fireplace is either the best seat in the house or a source of low-grade irritation, and the difference is usually maintenance. The gas unit that clicks but will not light. The wood fireplace that smokes just enough to notice. The pilot that quits on the first cold night, which is somehow always a Friday. We fix all of it, and when a unit is genuinely past fixing, we install what comes next, gas, wood or electric.

Repair: the everyday saves

  • Gas units: ignition failures, dead pilots and thermocouples, lazy or sooty flames, remotes and wall switches that stopped talking to the valve, glass fogging between uses
  • Wood fireplaces: smoke rolling into the room, dampers rusted open or shut, drafts that never quite pull, firebox and hearth wear
  • Electric units: heat elements, blowers and controls on the common brands

Most repair visits end the same way: the unit works, you get a plain explanation of what was wrong, and the invoice matches the number we quoted before touching a tool.

Annual tune-ups, the cheap insurance

Gas fireplaces especially reward a yearly service: burner and pilot assembly cleaned, glass cleaned and regasketed as needed, venting checked, logs repositioned to spec and the safety systems tested. Skipping it for years is how a unit drifts from crisp blue-based flames to soot, odor and shutdowns, and how small fixable issues get to grow up into replacements.

Installation and replacement

When you are ready for new, we handle the whole arc: helping you choose between gas, wood and electric for how you actually live, sizing the unit to the room, the venting and code work, and the finish so it looks like the house was built around it. Remodels and basement finishes welcome; we coordinate with your contractor so the fireplace lands right the first time.

FAQ about fireplace service

My gas fireplace clicks but does not light. What is wrong?

Usually ignition or pilot trouble, sometimes as simple as a dirty assembly or a failing thermocouple. It is among the most common calls we run and typically a quick visit. Stop cycling it and give us a ring.

Do fireplaces really need annual service?

Gas units, yes, that is the manufacturer line and ours. Wood fireplaces need their annual flue attention plus a mechanical once-over. Electric is the easy child, an occasional check keeps it happy.

Can you convert my wood fireplace to gas?

That is one of our most common projects: a gas insert into the existing masonry opening with new venting run through the old flue. One visit to measure, one day to install, no more wood pile.
